This problem just started on March 18, 2010.The new FileMaker 14 Platform provides the most complete and flexible experience across iPad, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and the web. This server and setup has been running without any problems for the past few years. The strangest part is that after shutting down and restarting several of the computers on the network, the application will or might work for a short period of time, a few hours and then lose the connection. We have tried reinstalling, restarting, checking configs and prefs, and are stumped. The Window clients still work and the Mac client using Developer still works, but all of the Regular clients on the Macs don't respond and can not connect or find the server. Last week, all of the Mac clients except the one with Developer 6, lost connections to the server and now after we start the client program on the Macs and try to access the "host" or "remote" databases, the program doesn't respond and we get the message "application not responding"
The server is FileMaker 5.5 on a Mac OS 10.4.8 / G5 rack mounted server.
We have 6 Mac OS 10.4.11 clients using FileMaker 6.0v4 client, one of which is using FileMaker 6 Developer for Mac and 3 Windows XP clients using FileMaker 6.0v4 client. I am up a creek right now and have been looking for the last 5 days to find a solution to this problem.
